Second Tour of Galilee
Full Transcript
All right, let's begin tonight in Luke chapter 7. The subject for the evening is the second tour of Galilee, but we have a little unfinished business from last week before we get to the second tour of Galilee. We're talking about our Lord's life, ministry, in this study of the life of Christ, really what we're doing is a harmony of the Gospels, comparing all four of the Gospels, putting all the accounts of the Gospels together, moving through them chronologically through our Lord's life. And we are in a section of his life and ministry called the Great Galilee and ministry, which is a time of about 18 month time period where our Lord is very active in ministries of preaching and teaching and the villages throughout the region of Galilee, the Northern section of Israel and is doing many miracles to confirm his message and present his credentials to the nation of Israel that he is the king who is offering the kingdom. And we have seen that along with growing popularity and fame, there is likewise a growing opposition from the religious leaders of the Pharisees and we will see that come to a pinnacle, a peak tonight as we get into Matthew chapter 12 and a little bit. But Luke chapter 7 first, before we begin the second tour, preaching tour of Galilee, we were talking last week about an incident of the Lord's having dinner with a Pharisee, Luke chapter 7 verse 36, one of the Pharisees invited Jesus to have dinner with him, so he went to the Pharisees house, reclined the table. You remember how we talked about the setting there where Jesus would be leaning on his left elbow probably, they would eat with their right hand, sorry for you left handers probably wouldn't gain as much weight maybe is what I would. But anyway, eat with your right hand with your feet sticking out from the table, a low reclining situation, low lying table. So keep that image in mind as you you recognize that there is a woman in verse 37, who the Bible says lived a sinful life in that town, learned that Jesus was eating at the Pharisees house, she brought an alabaster jar of perfume and as she stood behind him at his feet weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears, then she wiped them with her hair, kissed them and poured perfume on them. And we saw that that was really an act of worship. It was an act probably of being overcome with gratitude and a sense of awe of who our Lord was and the fact that she in following him and his ministry in some way had come in contact with him and probably have heard his message received him as her Lord and had become forgiven of her sin at least she was, she was at least headed that direction. We'll see the Lord confirms that later on in the conversation. Now where we left off was verse 39 so let's pick up there. When the Pharisee who had invited him saw this he said to himself, if this, now he's saying this to himself okay if this man were a prophet he would know who is touching him and what kind of woman she is that she is a sinner. Okay what what what does that say to you about this man his thoughts what does it say to you about it pardon me awful okay he's judgmental hypocrite okay she is a sinner implication not me she is obviously he's talking about she's lived a public life of sin probably known in the community as a sinner. What does it say about his opinion of Jesus? skeptical isn't he you know he's he's mentioned as a Pharisee the opposition is coming from the Pharisees at this point in our Lord's life they are the religious leaders and so is it possible as we have already seen Jesus this happened to him in his ministry is it possible that he was invited into this dinner with the express purpose of trying to discredit him or maybe trying to question him we don't know for sure but certainly the Lord has already been put in that position before we've seen when he healed the man that the Pharisees planted in the synagogue on the Sabbath but he he is skeptical if he were a prophet in other words if he really were a prophet and I'm not convinced of that as the implication in his mind but if he really were a prophet then he would know what kind of woman this is and the implication also is he would not allow her near him if he were really a prophet now what does that say also about this man's misunderstanding of real ministry says awful yeah I mean the whole thing is just awful right I mean he's just awful right down the list it obviously yes right exactly he doesn't understand that Jesus would would want to reach out to sinners in this man's mind righteousness is stay as far away from sinners as you can and and don't be one of them by association and Jesus came to reach out to simple people and to save them so it's a difference in religion and true relationship with Christ isn't it very same difference we see today okay let's let's move on uh Jesus answered him Simon I have something to tell you tell me teacher he said obviously Jesus knows his thoughts Simon has not yet spoken a word of what he's thinking about Jesus and this woman coming to him but Jesus knows his thoughts and now is going to teach him a lesson verse 41 two men owed money to a certain money lender one owed him 500 denari the other 50 500 denari is about 20 months worth of wages 50 denari about two months worth of wages great difference in what these two men owe verse 42 neither of them had the money to pay him back so he cancelled the debts of both now which of them will love him more now look at the answer in verse 43 Simon replied and I really believe this is the intent of his reply I suppose the one who had the bigger debt cancelled most commentators feel that the the words suppose the the the inclusion of that word on his part indicates cynicism on his part like you know the answer is obvious you know I shouldn't even have to answer this I suppose it'd be the one who you know Odey Moore I mean come on wouldn't anybody answer that way I think that there's self righteousness even in his answer from the inclusion of the words suppose Jesus says the universe 43 you have judged correctly Jesus said then he turned toward the woman and said to Simon do you see this woman I came into your house you did not give me any water for my feet but she wet my feet with her tears and wipe them with her hair you did not give me a kiss but this woman from the time I entered has not stopped kissing my feet you did not put oil on my head but she has poured perfume on my feet the contrast here is between what would be expected as common courtesy when entering a household and what this woman did as a lavish display of adoration and worship Simon was guilty of not even giving the most common courtesy to a guest he did not even treat Jesus like a a guest in his house which again would lead you to believe he had ulterior motives for happening there he didn't really want Jesus to be there because he wanted to honor him there was evidently some ulterior motive because he doesn't even give him the the courtesy of a guest when a guest would come into your home the first thing you would do when he came to the door was provide water for the feet usually a servant would do that to wash the dust off of the the feet before you enter the household it was a common courtesy a gesture of kindness Simon didn't even do that but this woman not only put water on his feet it was her own tears and that lavish display of devotion and adoration and worship she has poured out at his Jesus says you did not give me a kiss common Oriental greeting a kiss on the cheek you did not even give me a kiss on my cheek she hasn't stopped kissing my feet a sign of humility remember I mentioned last week that one of the words in the New Testament for worship is to kiss toward and the idea was to kneel and and kiss the feet of a king or to kiss even the ground that he would walk on that was a sign of of a humble greeting of a king and she's done that he didn't he didn't even get a common courteous greeting from Simon you didn't put oil on my head which would be another way of greeting a guest oil on the head as a symbol throughout the Bible of gladness and rejoicing the book of Ecclesiastes talks about that you didn't give me that common courtesy of a joyful greeting but she has poured perfume on my feet there's a great contrast here between the lack of common courtesy and the outpouring of adoration and worship and devotion and so he says this in verse 47 therefore I tell you her many sins have been forgiven for she loved much but he has been been forgiven little loves little don't misunderstand what he's saying in verse 47 he is not saying she has been forgiven because she loved much it is not her adoration which was the reason for her forgiveness otherwise this is salvation by works the implication of what Jesus really is saying here is her many sins have been forgiven and you can tell that because she loves much because she loves much that the evidence that she's been forgiven of many sins because Jesus has just said the one who's been canceled the greater debt loves the most and so it's the canceling of the debt that brings the response of love and so Jesus is talking here about the fact she loves much as an evidence of the fact that she's been forgiven much and then he makes the very gripping point which must have pierced the heart of Simon if Simon was was listening at all the one who has been forgiven little loves little that's you Simon that's you you didn't even give me common courtesy and then he turns to the woman verse 48 says your sins are forgiven the other guests began to say among themselves who is this who even forgives sins and Jesus said to the woman your faith has saved you not her great love it's her faith that saved her love was the evidence of her forgiveness he says go in peace okay so interesting story of Jesus being invited to a home and demonstrating the real reason why he came to forgive sinners it's a reason why he came okay other comments or questions on this incident in our Lord's life okay go ahead Lisa you any of those customs still go on today the eastern world does still practice things similar to this not exactly they wouldn't may and not and I'm speaking somewhat out of ignorance here somebody correct me if you're better familiar with this John you may know from Egypt what customs would be in the Arab world the need to cleanse dust off the feet the feet would not be the same today although in many eastern countries Japan for instance you're expected to take shoes off when you come in the house but you are given a pair of house shoes to wear so there is that in kind of a similarity there anything similar to that still happen in the Arab world John that you're aware of yeah kissing is still a very common greeting in the east and in in many countries on both cheeks yellow feet and all okay I don't know that they still pour oil on the head I don't know that that custom is still practiced okay yes yes they don't give you no fair shoes that's yeah okay but in many eastern European countries too the common kiss on the cheek is a form of reading okay any other questions comments right it's that's a great question how would this woman gain access to the home how would she have gotten in because probably Simon would not have welcomed her it was customary in wealthy homes of that day for poor people or outcasts to kind of sit around the fringes of the house or even be allowed into the room to to eat leftovers or to eat you remember the story in the Luke 16 the rich man and Lazarus Lazarus the beggar said I eat the crumbs from the rich man's table that kind of custom would be very common for maybe outcasts or poor people to be invited in to get leftovers but they would not be welcome guests at the meal and so that may have been the case here but there are some who suggest that she was a plant again that she was planted there maybe invited by Simon to try to embarrass Jesus and it kind of you know turned around on him okay all right let's move to Luke chapter 8 next few verses this is a description of the second tour of Galilee so we're going to talk about the second tour of Galilee now and the first thing we'll look at is just a brief description of the tour the tour is described in the first three verses after this Jesus traveled about from one town and village to another proclaiming the good news of the kingdom of God the twelve were with him just a couple of notes one is this is the second time he tours the region of Galilee did we include a map I can't remember did we include a map great okay we didn't my fault but this Galilee we've shown a map of several times and so you're familiar with it's no doubt burned into your mind by now and you know every look and cranny of Galilee so this is the second tour the first tour he had four maybe six of the disciples already following him here he's got all twelve there will be a third tour of Galilee where Jesus will send out the twelve on their own and then he will go different direction in preaching and teaching but this second tour he goes with the twelve and verse two gives an interesting verses two and three give an interesting insight into Jesus ministry verse two says and also some women who had been cured of evil spirits and diseases Mary called Magdalene she was from a town Magdala so she was the Magdalene from whom seven demons had come out Joanna the wife of Kusa the manager of Herod's household that's interesting manager of Herod's household this woman was from a very high strata of society her husband is the manager of the household for the king king Herod so you've got Mary Magdalene who has had seven demons cast out of her no doubt she was considered an outcast and you got this woman who comes from a high position in society and then Susanna we really know nothing else about her and many others the Bible says and notice their role the end of verse three these women were helping to support them out of their own means that is an interesting insight to me that Jesus did not support his own ministry in a miraculous fashion now certainly the one who could heal anyone who could cast demons out who could multiply five lows and two fishes to feed five thousand who could find two coins and a fishes mouth to pay taxes for him and Peter certainly that one could have just miraculously supported himself and his disciples as they traveled around but I think partly as part of his humanity and partly as a training of the twelve he he uses ordinary means he involves others in helping to support his ministry and there were women who had means who supported gave provided for them to minister as they traveled throughout Galilee just an interesting insight I believe into our Lord's ministry okay that's just a brief summary of this tour any questions or comments about that okay let's let's move to the next event which is the blasphemous accusation by the Pharisees it's found in Mark 3 and Matthew 12 we're going to look at Matthew's account Matthew chapter 12 Matthew chapter 12 verses 22 to 37 the first thing that we need to be aware of in this account of this story is that this is a very significant event in fact we're going to spend a little bit of time on it because this this is a very significant event in our Lord's life it actually is what many have called the crisis point of his ministry up to this time Jesus has been presenting his credentials through miraculous works for the nation to accept him as Messiah on this occasion this will be considered the official response of the Jewish leaders signifying they have rejected him and from this firm public rejection Jesus ministry will begin to turn a corner and he will begin to spend more time with the 12 training them more time isolated from the crowds there will still be miracles but not as many of them from this point on because Jesus ministry will shift the focus will shift and this is the real turning point it's a very significant event this is really the official rejection of the Jewish religious leadership of our Lord so we're going to spend a little bit a little bit of time on it notice if you will verse 22 the occasion for the accusation then they brought him a demon possessed man who was blind and mute and Jesus healed him so that he could both talk and see this is the occasion what what brings about this event is a healing it's a healing of a man who is blind and who cannot speak and Jesus is demon possessed and Jesus heals him to the effect that he can both talk and see and it is that event that healing of this man that is the occasion for what will happen next and the official rejection of the Jewish leaders notice the question right raised in verse 23 the question raised by this miracle by this healing all the people were astonished and said could this be the son of David now that is a pivotal question what are they asking here what is what is behind this question could this be the son of David what do they mean by that think I heard it Messiah the Christ yes the the term they use is extremely significant I mean everybody would know in that culture what they what they meant it's a little more remote for us and so we might wonder why did they say son of day why didn't just come out and say is the Messiah is he the king well that's exactly what they meant by that title son of David could this be the son of David in fact the the crowd the the multitude of people following him seeing his miracles hearing him teach is now beginning to come to the conclusion they're asking the question you know we've seen miracle after miracle after miracle this is like you know okay we're ready to we're ready to make a decision here is he the son of David could he be the son of David now notice if you will I'm going to put these on the screen for you a couple of verses that are significant in our understanding of this term son of David this is the promise God made to David in the Old Testament King David your house and your kingdom will endure forever before me your throne will be established forever you just told him prior to that that his son Solomon would be the one to sit on his throne and would be the one to build the temple and then this promise your house and your kingdom will endure forever and your throne will be established forever so there is an eternal promise here of David's descendants the rule on the throne and that throne will be established forever now if you study through the Old Testament you'll find that David had sons and grandsons and on down the line and and we talked about this a little bit when we talked about the genealogy of Jesus Jesus genealogy is traced back to David but notice what the angel Gabriel says to Mary when he announces Jesus birth you will conceive and give birth to a son and you're to call him Jesus he will be great and will be called the son of the most high the Lord God notice this the Lord God will give him the throne of his father David and he will reign over Jacob's descendants forever his kingdom will never end the direct fulfillment of the promise made to David that your throne and your kingdom will exist forever Jesus is the one the angel from heaven said who is the fulfillment of that so when the people are now questioning is this the son of David they're thinking Old Testament they're thinking the promise made to David for a son to reign on his throne could this be the one who will reign on David's throne could this be the one who is our king our Messiah the son of David that's what they're asking and the Pharisees realize they are about to lose the populace they are about to lose the people and so they make a very startling charge notice the charge that's leveled by the Pharisees verse 24 when the Pharisees heard this they said it is only by B.L.s above the Prince of demons that this fellow drives out demons hey it's quite a statement it's only by B.L.s above who is B.L.s above Satan I heard okay Lord of the flies okay both correct let me show you how that we got this word B.L.s above actually is the Greek form of the Hebrew next word B.L.s above B.L. was an Old Testament deity brought to Israel by Jezebel the Phoenician wife of King Ahab she introduced B.L. worship and it was the plague of Israel it was what Elijah challenged Mount Carmell B.L.s above was a play it actually does mean Lord of flies it was a play of a sarcastic reference to this next term B.L.s. Zibul B.L. Zibul meant exalted B.L. and so Godly Israelites said no he's not B.L. Zibul he is B.L. Zibul Lord of flies and that became kind of a pejorative kind of slaying expression for the God B.L. on the part of Godly Israelites and the term in the New Testament began to be applied to Satan and so it was a term in the New Testament that was applied to Satan himself it's really a play on words but it's a name for Satan and so really what the Pharisees are saying is Jesus does his miracles not by divine power but by satanic power that's where his miracle working power comes from that is a very very serious charge and notice they could not deny the reality of the miracles they did not try to explain away the miracles they could not deny that what they were seeing was miraculous they knew that so because they couldn't deny that they had to find some other reason for it some other origin for the miracles and so they come up with this this charge that he does his miracles oh yeah they're miracles we understand that there we have nobody can deny that plenty of evidence for that but they come by the power of Satan so he cannot be trusted you cannot believe in him because his miracles come from the wrong source and so in that way they're trying to discredit him actually they're taking what Jesus intended to be the credentials of his ministry they're saying yeah these are credentials of hell that's what their credentials of nothing else just that he's filled with satanic power now we're going to see that Jesus considers this a very serious charge notice how he responds to it the answer of Jesus to the charge any any question to this point of what's happened before we get to the answer yes Greg you're thinking just like Jesus really I mean that's exactly what Jesus is going to respond with that's exactly what he's going to say and so that's a that is an excellent point because it is a contradiction for Satan to be casting out his own demons so notice notice how Jesus responds in verse 25 verses 25 and 26 he responds by saying the charge first of all is absurd and this is really what Greg was talking about verse 25 Jesus knew their thoughts by the way here again evidently they are thinking this they're expressing this in their minds and Jesus knows what they're thinking and says to them every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined and every city or household divided against itself will not stand if Satan drives out Satan he is divided against himself how then can his kingdom stand so Jesus basically saying Satan would be opposing himself he'd be working against himself tearing down his own kingdom if he's casting out his own demons why would the charge is absurd why would Satan do that secondly he says the charge is inconsistent in verse 27 and if I drive out demons by beels above by whom do your people drive them out so then they will be your judges what does Jesus mean by that by whom do your people drive them out were there other people casting out demons there are those who say yes there are some who believe this is just a supposition on the part of people that others did it but Josephus records that he witnessed Josephus is a Jewish historian of the first century who wrote basically from Rome but he records that he actually saw exorcisms by Jewish teachers not he's not mentioning Jesus in that regard so and there are a couple of other historical references to this so it is quite possible that there were others that cast out demons and what Jesus is doing basically is turning their argument back on them if you're saying that the only way to cast out demons is by Satan's power then what about you know your buddies and friends over here who've done the same thing what are you saying about them you making the same charge about them so he's saying the charge is inconsistent to charge Jesus with doing it by Satan's power thirdly he says the charge obscures the truth verse 28 but if I drive out demons by the spirit of God then the kingdom of God has come upon you here's the alternative and this is the truth it is not by satanic power it is by the power of the Holy Spirit remember Jesus in his humanity depends upon the power of the spirit to accomplish his miracles and so he says this is the alternative that I'm driving them out by the spirit of God if that's the case then they are genuine credentials of my ministry and my message and that is that the kingdom of God is here kingdom of God has come let me finish the thought here Steve verse 29 or again how can anyone enter a strong man's house and carry off his possessions unless he first ties up the strong man then it can rob his house he is not with me is against me he does not gather with me scatters the idea is okay we're talking about two different sides here Satan spirit of God power of God those are the two alternatives okay there's no middle ground here I'm telling you that I'm driving them out by the spirit of God a person can't go and he uses an illustration here in verse 29 you can't go into a strong man's house and and rob him without first tying up the strong man I mean you know you don't go in and and commit that kind of robbery take his stuff without first dealing with him you got to disable him and it's an illustration of the fact that Jesus doesn't go into Satan's territory it cast out his demons take his stuff without first disabling Satan so the two are at odds Jesus would not do this in Satan's power he has to overcome Satan to do this okay and then the clear delineation of the two sides he who is not with me is against me he does not gather with me scatters okay so there are two alternatives here in Jesus is saying I'm telling you it's this you're saying it's this there's no middle ground here Steve comment but they do not cast out the whole of Jesus just can't see the whole thing and stuff and the demons okay yeah the example you use is an excellent example of the the time when the disciples did see another man casting out a demon wanted to review him Jesus said no if he's not against the sees with us that kind of thing so yeah good good biblical example of someone else who was casting out demons okay any other comment or question okay now here's here's where we really get into the heavy stuff verse 31 we got seven minutes wow and so I tell you verse 31 every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men but the blasphemy against the spirit will not be forgiven anyone who speaks a word against the son of man will be forgiven but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven either in this age or in the age to come and what Jesus is saying here is the charge is dangerous what you're saying is very dangerous in fact the specific sin that the the Pharisees are guilty of committing that Jesus is charging them with now is that the Lord does his miracles through satanic power rather than through divine power or the Holy Spirit's power here's here's the issue you're saying Jesus is telling them that I am doing my miracles by Satan's power you are denying that the miracles are done through the Holy Spirit's power that is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit now why does Jesus say other blasphemies can be forgiven other sins can be forgiven this blasphemy cannot be forgiven anyone who speaks a word against the son of man can be forgiven but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven why is he saying that why is this so serious why can someone speak against the son of man be forgiven but not against the Holy Spirit because the Holy Spirit is God but so is the son of man there may be something there there may be something there about the Holy Spirit drawing someone and if a person rejects that but let's let's remember okay this is often called the unpardonable sin because of what Jesus says whatever sin is being committed here cannot be forgiven it's unpardonable please understand the specific sin that is being committed here the sin that Jesus says cannot be forgiven is to witness Jesus miracles done in the power of the Holy Spirit which are designed to confirm his ministry to be credentials that he is truly from God and his message is right it is the kingdom of God that has come those are credential confirming miracles by the power of the Holy Spirit to take that sign those credentials and attribute them to Satan okay that is the unforgivable sin in the book of John Jesus says there were four witnesses to who I am John chapter five there's the witness of the father there's the witness of John the Baptist there's my own witness and there's the witness of the works the works now look at these verses in John chapter 10 I believe it is I listen to this Jesus says this in John 10 do not believe me unless I do the works of the father but if I do them even though you do not believe me believe the works that you may know and understand that the father is in me and I and the father and then on in John chapter 14 Jesus says believe me when I say that I am in the father and the father is in me or at least believe on the evidence of the works themselves these verses are highlighting the reason for the miracles the reason for the miracles and this is basic to understanding miracles in the New Testament the reason for the miracles was to confirm the message and the person of the Messiah that was the reason for the miracles they were evidence that Jesus was who he said he was now you can reject the witness of the father you can reject the witness of John you can reject the witness of Jesus he says even if you don't believe me there's one last thing that God intends to convince you one last thing that if you don't believe anything else this should convince you and that's the miracles that was the whole purpose of the miracles the whole purpose of the miracles was to add evidence cooperating testimony to what God was saying the son of man was saying what John the Baptist was saying this is the clenching evidence that what all the all of them are saying is true the miracles if you reject that there's nothing left there's nothing left that's God's final testimony and Jesus would even say you can disbelieve me but look at the evidence look at the miracles and so if you reject that there's nothing left to give you there's nothing left that God's going to give you is that nothing left but judgment you have committed the unpardonable sin the sin that cannot be forgiven you have rejected the clear evidence of the miracles of Christ what reminds me of the judgment and hell when Abraham told him he could not feel like what he's been rushed they would not believe someone's turn to say it so he don't believe the miracles he must believe something that he may be yeah and he goes on to tell him they have Moses and the prophets let him let them believe them the testimony of the word of God yes Steve that he was sitting right there saying no yeah yeah yeah I mean that's that's really it this is the last line of proof that God is going to give them and they say no to that and God says there's nothing else that's it you've crossed the line judgment that's it that's all that waits now you've committed the unforgivable sin now before we go it's eight o'clock can the unpardonable sin be committed today okay not based on what I just taught okay I agree with you what the unpardonable sin cannot be committed today because remember the unpardonable sin is specifically the sin of witnessing Jesus miracles of witness while he was on earth presenting himself as the Messiah the miracles that were intended to be proofs and credentials and signs of who he was to reject those and say those really come from the devil that is the unpardonable sin now I know what some people say well unbelief is the unpardonable sin because that will send you to hell and it will never be forgiven well obviously if a person dies in unbelief that one sin can never be forgiven because they've not trusted Christ but that's not what Jesus is talking about the unpardonable sin the only sin Jesus said could not be forgiven could only have been committed during his ministry because of the nature of the sin you had to be there to witness his miracles as a presentation of him as the king and reject them so that that sin can't be committed today suicide is not the unpardonable sin a lot of people get confused on that I certainly don't want to minimize the gravity of that obviously if a person commits suicide that's the taking of a human life a person dies without being able to ask for forgiveness for that sin but when you think about it every one of us in this room will probably die with some sin unconfessed right some sin that we forgot about long ago some sin that we just willingly had not confessed probably every person in this room will die with some sin unconfessed is that send you to hell no no eternal security means that once you've trusted Christ as your Savior and God's eyes you're declared righteous everything is wiped off your record the righteousness of Christ is placed on your record and you are secure you're going to be in heaven someday if you die without having confessed some sin that's not going to rob you of your salvation so suicide is not the unpardonable sin unbelief is not the unpardonable sin the only unpardonable sin could have only been committed during the lifetime of Jesus but it was extremely serious what the Pharisees were saying extremely serious and that's why we've spent so much time yes sir yes sir Jerry yes that's a great question everybody here with Jerry's asking if these people did reject his miracles then that means no way later on because they have changed their mind because this is unforgivable they've crossed the line brings up an interesting thought here there are many expositors many commentators who say we're not really sure the people or even the religious leaders actually committed this sin they were on the verge of it Jesus knew what they were thinking and he cautions them and this whole passage is a caution I think it's a I think it's a very personally I think it's a very clear warning probably those who had already become settled in their feeling that we are not going to accept him as a Messiah they probably have already crossed the line and they were gone yeah but I think some of the people who heard this probably had not yet crossed that line and there was hope for them later yes yeah yeah sure there were many people who after even the resurrection believed the lie that his body was stolen and some some no doubt would have been included in this number okay we got to go
